In 1957, Betsy jumped from the pages of McCall’s Magazine into the active hands of her loyal fans as an 8-inch hard plastic doll. Produced by the American Character Doll Company in conjunction with McCall’s, this Betsy was an instant hit as a playtime friend!
In 2000, the Robert Tonner reintroduced 8-inch Betsy McCall® as a high quality doll for play and collecting based on the original Tiny Betsy. 8” Betsy McCall® is made from high quality hard plastic (with the exception of the resin ball-jointed Ultimate Betsy McCall® - see below) with multiple joints and a newly engineered ‘swing-out’ arm allow for the doll to raise her arms to the sides. Dolls have blinking eyes and wigged, synthetic mohair hair styles.
